Before we hustled back to the '70s to relive Coco Banana, we hit the British High Street to celebrate Topshop's 10th anniversary. A lot of good things are happening to the brand in Manila this year, starting with the revamp of its Robinsons Galleria branch into a flagship store, continuing to the launch of the much-awaited Topshop makeup line, and more exciting surprises in store—hint: we hear some stepping up is happening on the shoe front!
Preview celebrated the brand's decade-long success in Opus the night before the disco-themed Best Dressed Ball. A short program was led by Sanya Smith, who awarded Topshop gift certificates to several seriously lucky partyphiles.
Eye candies Fabio Ide, Bea Soriano, and Carla Humphries dressed up for the Brit High Street theme, scoping the Opus scene while Topshop makeup how-tos played on large LCDs all around.
Meanwhile, spiffily dressed Manila nightlife fixtures Georgina Wilson, Tim Yap, Divine Lee and beau Victor Basa all partied to DJ Mars Miranda's music. Designers Rajo Laurel and Louis Claparols danced to Ornusa Cadness's beats when she replaced Mars on the decks.
But the whole house let loose when a suited-up Sam Milby suddenly took over the DJ booth, surprising the crowd with a mix of pop and hip-hop music that had the crowd on its feet well past their self-imposed early-ish curfew (to save energy for the Coco Banana party).
And, yeah, with a DJ this hot, who in their right mind would ever want to stop dancing and leave?
Happy 10th birthday, Topshop!
