MANILA, Philippines – Not even the slippery terrain could stop hunk-actor Sam Milby from placing third at the Motocross Beginners Competition held in Cavite last Aug. 7.
“Madulas, sobrang dulas. Hindi puwedeng tumalon,” Sam quipped in an interview aired on " Umagang Kay Ganda (UKG),” Aug. 10, referring to the tracks that have become unstable because of recent rains.
Sam apparently has always been in love with the sport, noting that “I love the adrenaline rush, ‘yung speed, ‘yung pag nasa ere na.”
"Ito ang passion ko, maraming nagsasabi sa akin na 'Sam, masyadong mapanganib ang motocross, dapat tumigil ka na.' Pero ako, hilig ko talaga [ito]," ABS-CBN News quoted him as saying.
Nevertheless, the singer-actor is aware of his limitations.
"Hindi ako 'yung tipong rider na gagawin ko ang crazy stunt, 'yung nagba-backflip. Ako, I will do the jumps, 'yung mga matataas na jumps, but I would keep in mind na 'mag-ingat ka, may taping ka bukas.' Lagot talaga ako [‘pag] nasaktan ako," he related.
Sam's love for motocross runs in the blood. His father and two brothers had also joined competitions in the past, the same “UKG” report cited.
According to a tweet by his road manager Caress Caballero last Sunday, the actor competed in two race divisions: beginners and novice.
Asked if he had any lady in mind—and heart—while he was racing, Sam frankly told "UKG," “Wala din eh.”
He quickly added, “Pero dadating ‘yon. I’m not seeing anybody. I’m not dating anybody. Not by choice. Ready ako. I’m very ready for [a] love life.”
Sam has been linked to Kim Chiu, Julia Montes, Marié Digby, and Angeline Quinto since parting ways with TV host-actress Anne Curtis in 2008.
