"Sam says 'violent' scenes with Juday hard to do"

MANILA – Actor Sam Milby admitted he had a hard time doing the “violent” scenes with actress Judy Ann Santos for their primetime series “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.”

In the teleserye, Milby plays Eros Diomedes, a rich young man who develops an aggressive temper from growing up surrounded by a domineering family. He falls in love with Anessa (Santos), a woman he meets while on a business trip in the province.

Later on, however, as seen in the trailer for "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala," Eros and Anessa's relationship turns sour, when he starts having an affair and begins physically abusing his partner.

“Dito ang first time din na role na may ginawa akong bugbog sa babae. Lalo na nung mga first time na may eksena kami na ganun, parang nahihiya ako sa kanya kasi minsan pag andun ako sa eksena, mahirap para sa akin na idaya 'yung paghawak ko, 'yung malambot lang pero hindi. Malakas talaga 'yung paghawak ko,” he said.
Milby said he admires Santos for being a true professional, letting him "hurt" her just to deliver the performance the viewers deserve.

“Nahiya ako sa kanya pero sobrang bait siya sa akin and she allowed me and it was okay with her. Tinutulungan niya ako. She’s perfected the craft of acting so working with her has been inspiring. It’s been a learning process para sa akin and a huge privilege,” he said.

Far from his romantic leading man roles, Milby said he is challenging himself to play the bad guy in the series by not allowing himself to be left behind when acting opposite Santos..

"Sam Milby admits he’s scared to be overshadowed by Judy Ann Santos’s acting"

Currently playing the role of the very volatile Eros in the new Primetime Bida series Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala, Sam Milby admitted it is a whole new kind of acting experience for him. “Ito yung pinaka-challenging role na ginawa ko for sure. Siyempre yung mga roles ko dati typical leading man na pang-kilig, romantic. Nakikita naman na hindi yun ang role ko dito. Pero hindi siya yung kontrabida role din eh. He’s a kontrabida na malalaman niyo sa first week pa lang kung bakit ganun siya. Siyempre maaawa at kikiligin pa rin kayo sa character ko imbis na magalit,” he admitted.

As the story progresses, Sam said he had some difficulty shooting scenes in which he had to get violent with Judy Ann Santos who plays the role of Anessa, his wife. “Dito ang first time din na role na may ginawa akong bugbog sa babae. Lalo na nung mga first time na may eksena kami na ganun, parang nahihiya ako sa kanya kasi minsan pag andun ako sa eksena, mahirap para sa akin na idaya yung paghawak ko, yung malambot lang pero hindi. Malakas talaga yung paghawak ko, she lets me and pagkatapos ng eksena parang nako-konsensya na ako. sabi ko, ‘Okay ba kayo? Sorry ha.’ Nahiya ako sa kanya pero sobrang bait siya sa akin and she allowed me and it was okay with her. Tinutulungan niya ako. She’s perfected the craft of acting so working with her has been inspiring, it’s been a learning process para sa akin and a huge privilege,” he shared.

Sam said he feels very privileged to be Juday’s personal choice as leading man. “What else can you say, basta being handpicked by the queen, you can’t help but say I feel honored, privileged, and thankful. Sana lang hindi ko siya madi-disappoint si Juday, sa management, to everyone. I’m challenged by myself. I’m challenged by the management, sa mga viewers, kay Juday. Siyempre si Juday she’s mastered the art of acting and to be working with her, the Queen of Pinoy soap operas and ka-eksena ko siya, I’m just pressuring myself to really improve kasi gusto ko talaga ipakita na I’m taking this seriously. Gusto ko talaga mag-improve sa craft and ipakita na kaya kong gawin yung ganitong role. I feel honored to be working with her and yung puri niya sa akin,” he said...

" KC Concepcion on her newest role: ‘Ayoko maging typical kontrabida’

Far from the leading lady roles she has played in the past, KC Concepcion shows off a fiercer and stronger side as Alexis in the newest Primetime Bida series Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala. The model-turned-actress admitted the show’s star Judy Ann Santos played a big part in getting her to accept her first kontrabida role.  “It might’ve been harder to convince me talaga kasi of course. Si Ate Juday talaga was the one who really personally called me and explained na gusto ko ikaw ang maging kontrabida ko dito. I said I have to think about it and then yun, until nalaman na lang niya na I accepted the project,” she recalled. KC said she wants to convince viewers that she can portray a different kind of role. “Ayoko maging typical kontrabida. Kasi laging nakikita [yun] from Tita Cherie Gil, or yung kay Ate Gladys Reyes,” she said.

KC said she is happy that her character will have a proper backstory. “Ang bidang kontrabida ngayon is something na mas accepted na ng tao kasi mas naipapakita ng ABS-CBN, especially yung buhay ng isang masasabi mong bida kontrabida na nalalaman naman nila kung bakit naging ganun. Kumbaga sabi sa akin nung mga director namin, mamahalin din si Alexis dito. Although ine-expect ko na rin na madaming maiinis. Pero marami rin siyang back story eh like simula nung bata sila ni Eros, simula nung pagkabata nila magkasama na sila. Merong mga nangyayari na hindi niya rin ginagawa on purpose kasi nga masyado na silang magkakilala dito. Si Alexis siyempre ito yung ine-expect ng tao na kontrabida talaga pero siguro ang maganda kay Alexis, she is not the main kontrabida kasi you will not hate Alexis. She is somebody na makikita niyo yung pinanggagalingan ng babae kung bakit siya naging ganun. Kung bakit siya nangagalmot pag binubulabog. Kung bakit din siya yung marunong makipaglaban at ipaglaban yung sarili niya pag kinakailangan,” she explained.

 

 KC admitted that Alexis has qualities that everyone can relate to, even if they are not necessarily positive traits. “I always say na there is an Alexis in everyone. Mapa-babae, mapa-querida, mapa-single girl, single parent or single woman or beki man yan. Yung pagmamaldita, sa totoo lang I have so much fun with it. As in tuwang tuwa ako sa character niya kasi  ito yung tipong nagpapakatotoo siya. Pinapakita niya sa viewer yung lahat ng sides niya. Yung viewer lang yung makakakita nun kasi kapag kaharap ni Alexis si Tito Romulus (Tirso Cruz III) niya, iba rin pag kaharap niya si Anessa (Judy Ann Santos), iba rin pag kaharap niya yung pinakamamahal niya sa buhay niya na si Eros (Sam Milby). So exciting siya for me at pag nag-action na feel na feel ko na yung ginagawa kong pang-bu-bully,” she said.
