Glenn Aguilar rules Cavite leg of local motocross series
TOP FILIPINO motocross rider Glenn Aguilar stamped his class anew as he ruled the 7th leg of the 2011 Enersel Forte Philippine National Motocross series held last weekend.
Part of efforts to revive local interest in the adrenaline-pumping sport, the series took the race track in Molino 3, Cavite, south of Metro Manila.
A day earlier, Las Piñas native Aguilar also ruled the same category in the 8th leg of the CEO JYL Motocross Invitational Cup, defeating Mongosong, Donark Yuzon, Yapparcon and JC Rellosa for top spot.
The invitational cup completed the exciting twin motocross event weekend that doubled as a medical mission, in partnership with SEL-J Pharmaceuticals, for residents of Molino 3. Thousands of local beneficiaries got free medicines and consultation during the mission.
Also competing in the weekend event was actor-singer Sam Milby. A former housemate on TV’s Pinoy Big Brother, Milby flashed his motocross skills by entering in the Beginner Open Prod and Novice Open Prod categories. Milby finished third in the beginner open while winding up ninth in the novice open.
SEL-J Sport CEO Jay Lacnit, a major proponent in revival efforts for local motocross and the man behind the ongoing series, joined in the action, too, finishing first and seventh in the Executive B and Executive A categories, respectively, of the national motocross series.
The winners in the executive races of the 7th Leg of the Enersel Series were: Dexter Bacabac, Irwin Lacnit, Mario Moralto, Toti Alberto and Towak Amdengan (Executive A); Jay Lacnit, Towak Amdengan, Allan Ranillo, Toti Alberto, Butch Flores (Executive B); and Rodelo Tiburcio, Brett Robertson, Dennis Marinao, Paolo Gonzalez and Mike Laosantos (Executive C).
The top five winners of the other categories were: Scott Remi Martin, Judy Bacabac, Sam Milby, Jodel Bonto, Jepoy Rellosa (Beginner Open Prod); Noynoy Rellosa, JB Bacabac, Arniel Lacnit, Patrick Orbe and Jesse Pineda (Intermediate); Randy Dayao, Aikee Mapa, Archie Soon, Bomvet Santos and Andy Murphy (Underbone Open); Arniel Lacnit, Clifford Gabriel, Louben Panahon, Arvin Palilio and Raymond Herrera (ATV Pro).
