During her solo press con for My Binondo Girl last August 11, Kim Chiu was quick to refute rumors that Sam Milby is the latest addition to her growing list of suitors. The young actress was even surprised when she first heard the news as soon as she got back from their shoot in Hong Kong last week. “Wala talaga. Natawa na lang ako nung umuwi ako galingHong Kong. May nag-text sa akin, ‘Uy Kim ha! Crushmo daw si Sam?’ Sabi ko, ‘Ano? Hindi kaya! Nagbi-BBM (Blackberry Messaging) kami, nagte-textpero ganon lang. Wala naman [akong crush sa kanya].”
Kim further explained that it was Kris Aquino who thought about pairing her up with Sam during an episode of Kris TV. “Yun yung ipinakita ko yung bahay ko for Kris TV. Ginaya ko yung platinum roomni Sam na loft style. Sabi ni Sam ginaya ko siya. Soparang sabi ni Kris, ‘Uy! Ayan, match kayo, single ka,single siya.’ Si ate Kris kasi gusto ng magka-boyfriendako. ‘O, si ganito na lang, si ganyan.’ E nahiya naman ako... May mga crush crush ako ngayon, pero ganon lang,” she coyly related.
The sought-after actress also denied recent reports that her My Binondo Girl co-star Jolo Revilla has been giving her expensive designer gifts. “Ay, hindi niya kaya ako pinag-sya-shopping! Ako lang ang bumibili para sa sarili ko. Wala talaga, sa taping lang kami nagkikita. Exaggerated lang yung balita na nalilink kami sa isa’t isa at ipinamimili niya ako. Hindi talaga totoo. Wala pa naman akong natatanggap kay Jolo kundi yung siomai lang. Si Jolo sobrang galante lang talaga siya sa set namin. Kahit sinong tao nililibre niya, nadadamay lang ako. And hanggang dun lang naman. Mabait naman talaga si Jolo.”
Many showbiz insiders believe, however, that it’s her rumored suitor Simon Atkins who’s closest to Kim’s heart at the moment. The two were reportedly spotted together on several occasions; but the young actress remained tight-lipped about the real score between them. “Nag-uusap din [kami], nagte-text, tawagan... Nandiyan lang naman siya,” she briefly stated.
When asked if she’s ready to enter a relationship anytime soon, Kim insisted that there’s no need to rush because it’s not as if she will run out of boys when she’s prepared to join the dating scene. “Darating din tayo diyan. Ang pakikipag-boyfriend, hindi naman ’yan hinahanap. Tsaka hindi naman nauubos ang mga lalaki! Kaya huwag na tayo magmadali.”
What’s her ideal guy then? “Basta gusto ko mabait, down to earth, caring at siyempre cute!”
