Aug 11, 2011 - The International Festival of Filipino Culture and Cuisine -The Pistahan Parade and Festival at Yerba Buena, August 13 & 14, this Saturday & Sunday - the largest annual Filipino celebration in San Francisco! 


Now on its 18th year, the festival will feature: Filipino American Jazz Festival, Adobo Cook-Off, Balut Eating Contest, Art Pavilion, Dance Pavilion, Culinary Pavilion, Heritage Pavilion, Creativity Pavilion, Live Entertainment on two stages, and more!

Wesley is a 32-year-old naturalized Fil-American living in New York City. Twelve years earlier he left his grandmother and brother in the Philippines in order to pursue his dream of becoming a painter. But the years of keeping up with the American way of life, coupled with the guilt of leaving his family behind, have taken their toll and Wesley is no closer to achieving his dream. 


In the middle of his life-crisis away from his homeland, he suddenly gets a phone-call saying that a loved one back in the Philippines has died. The problem is that two weeks before he came to New York, a tragic accident had taken the lives of his parents, and since then he has never looked at a dead body in a coffin or gone inside a funeral home. 


Throughout his homecoming his brother, his friends, an aunt and an ex-girlfriend remind him of what life is truly all about. They also help him shine some light on his struggles back in the States as well as his more immediate struggle: to look at his loved one in the coffin, to finally say his last goodbye, to get on with his life and start chasing his dream again.
