MANILA, Philippines -- Samsung Electronics Co. launched its latest Galaxy S smartphone in the Philippines on Tuesday night, with the third generation model expected to be even more successful than its predecessor.
The Galaxy S3, which will be available in the Philippines on June 1, was launched at a party at the Bonifacio Global City, which was attended by several Kapamilya stars, led by endorser Sam Milby.
Also seen at the event were former Miss Universe runner-up Venus Raj with boyfriend Andrei Felix, actress Rica Peralejo and singer Jed Madela.
“The phone is designed to be both effortlessly smart and intuitively simple, the Galaxy S3 has been created with our human needs and capabilities in mind,” JK Shin, president and head of IT and mobile communications of Samsung.
“It enables its user to enjoy a seamless, natural and human-centric mobile experience,” Shin added.
The Galaxy S3, which will hit stores in 28 European and Middle East countries, including Germany and Britain, on Tuesday, tracks the user's eye movements to keep the screen from dimming or turning off while in use.
Running on Google's Android operating system, the new smatyphone boasts a 4.8-inch screen, bigger than the 3.5-inch display on Apple's iPhone 4S and the 4.7-inch screen on HTC's One X model...
