MANILA – Fresh from his trip to France for the screening of his movie “Death March,” Sam Milby was all smiles as he shared his experience at the Cannes International Film Festival.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 upon his arrival on Wednesday, Milby said he could still not believe that he was able to walk the Cannes red carpet along with popular Hollywood personalities.

“Two days lang ako doon [but it was an] amazing experience. First off, to walk on the red carpet na kasabay mo si Steven Spielberg… sayang naman kasi wala akong pictures. After us were Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth for the promotion of their movie ‘Hunger Games,’” he said.

Milby said he also got the chance to see Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan up close when he did his photo call for “Death March” on his second day.

“Amazing privilege talaga. I wish that 'yung mga kasama ko sa movie din were able to experience that kasi it’s like once in a lifetime chance talaga. I’m very happy and thankful that I got to do something like this,” he said.

Aside from Milby, also featured in “Death March” are Kapamilya actors Zanjoe Marudo and Jason Abalos.

“Ako happy ako. It’s funny because when you’re watching for the first time, siyempre alam mo rin yung mga kasama mo doon. My heart was beating so fast because everyone is watching with you. Sobrang saya talaga,” he said.

While he is grateful that many Filipinos turned out to see his movie, Milby said it is unfortunate that he wasn’t able to read any of the reviews.
