"Good reaction naman afterwards. And the fact na, Cannes Film Festival is the biggest festival of the year, and to be part of it sa competition din, it's a huge thing," he said during the "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" promo shoot in Manila.

"Death March" is nominated in the Un Certain Regard category along with other Filipino finalist, Lav Diaz's "Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan" (Norte, The End of History).
Sam said the movie was screened three times in the festival and reviews are pouring in day in and day out.

"The day after laging may review but I didn't get to see the review of the critics. I'm happy because it is an artistic way of doing the Bataan Death March. Hindi siya pang mainstream, it's an indie movie," he said.
A French producer even asked for a copy of the movie to be screen in mainland France, the actor said.

Sam said it was an overwhelming feeling to be able to join the annual festival.
"That experience of hearing your name called out... It's a worldwide press and they don't know who you are. But to that share a moment and yung ibang stars walk in front of you, masaya," he said.
