Impostor receives gold medal for being nominated at the International Emmy Awards

Impostor is the lone Asian entry to the Best Telenovela category of the International Emmy Awards this year. ABS-CBN's defunct teleserye was topbilled by (top frame) Sam Milby and Maja Salvador as well as (bottom frame) Jason Francisco and Melai Cantiveros.
Before the winners of the International Emmy Awards were announced in New York, all of the entries were honored with a gold medal for being shortlisted in the prestigious competition.

ABS-CBN's defunct Precious Hearts Romances: Impostor is nominated in the Best Telenovela category.

Maja Salvador, Sam Milby, Melai Cantiveros and Jason Francisco are the lead stars of this teleserye inspired by a novel written by Martha Cecilia. It tells the story of a provincial lass who was forced to take the persona of a well-known model.
Jerome Pobocan and Neal del Rosario served as the directors of Impostor.

The lone Asian entry to the Best Telenovela category is competing against Argentina's Contra las Cuerdas, Brazil's Destiny River and Portugal's Lacos de Sangue.

The gala of the International Emmy Awards will be held on Monday night in New York (Tuesday morning in Manila).

According to Don Tagala of the ABS-CBN North America News Bureau, Rowena Benitez, the production manager of Impostor, received the medal in a ceremony held at Hotel Sofitel in Manhattan over the weekend.

Benitez was quoted as saying: "Sobrang honored because we made it to the cut. There were several judges, 800 judges for 67 countries, so its already a feat being nominated. Sobrang privileged and inspired that we can produce world-class dramas that can make it to the international market."
Bruce Praisner, president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts and Science, also told the said News Bureau: "This group, partly speaking, is the winner. Everybody can't win, but if you're a nominee in a competition around the world with a thousand nominations and you emerge from all of that, well in our book, you've won."
