2011 has just started but Maja Salvador is already busy working on her new projects, including a movie with boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli, entitled My Cactus Heart and an upcoming afternoon soap opera,Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin. “First quarter po ipapalabas ‘yung bago kong soap with Jason Abalos at ang nagbabalik nating Kapamilya na si Mr. Patrick Garcia,” she revealed. “Magandang storya po siya ng pag-ibig na hindi lang tungkol sa pag-ibig. ‘Yung pastng mga magulang namin na pwede palang mangyari din ‘yon sa aming mga anak nila at kaya ba naming ipaglaban ‘yon kahit na mali na ‘yung pag-ibig.”The last teleserye Maja did was the hit primetime show, Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin, where she played the love interest of Coco Martin’s character. Their team-up became hugely popular although it was not really the main plot of the show. Maja explained that it does not matter to her if she is the lead star of a project or not. To her, what is important is that she does her job well. “’Yung character ko do’n kahit papaano napansin ng mga tao, napamahal ‘yung characters namin ni Coco, somasaya ako.
“Tapos ‘yung Impostor kahit na panghapon siya, napansin siya internationally kaya sobrang maswerte.” Maja referred to the recognition awarded to her previous afternoon soap with Sam Milby, Melai Cantiveros, and Jason Francisco. Impostor was nominated for Best Telenovela at the International Emmy Awards last November 2011 and was given a gold medal, just like the other entries.
Maja added that as long as she is given a project, she is happy with it. “Hindi [ako] nagko-complain, masaya lang dapat,” she pointed out. “At least nabibigyan ka ng magandang proyekto at tamang proyekto. Nasa sa ‘yo lang po ‘yon kung pagagandahin mo ba, paghuhusayin mo ba para tumatak ‘yung character na gagawin mo. Basta magandang ang istorya at magandang gampanan, gagawin ko po.
