Join the fast on November 19 too to help promote this advocacy. By Belle Yambao

Sam Milby, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Matteo Guidicelli, and Ogie Alcasid are just some of organization World Vision's celebrity supporters for this year's 12-Hour Famine. The movement, which will be held on November 19 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig, encourages the youth to fast for 12 hours as show of solidarity in the fight against hunger. According to World Vision, over 24,000 children die each day because of starvation and malnutrition, and the movement serves as a way of making more people aware of just how grave the situation really is.

The Famine is a worldwide movement, and participants from the Philippines will stand as one with youths celebrating in other countries. Only individuals from ages 14 and up are encouraged to join the fast, but people of all ages--younger or older--can show their support by attending the gathering.

As part of the movement, the youth can sign up as hunger-fighters and raise money for the cause individually or as a group. The funds will be used in helping World Vision-assisted communities in the country.

Scroll through the gallery below to see what celebrities, artists, and media personalities have to say about the movement--including World Vision ambassadors Chris Tiu, Nikki Gil, Sam Concepcion, and Tippy Dos Santos.
