MANILA, Philippines – If there’s anything that keeps celebrities on their toes, it’s the constant change that opportunities bring them. Some may be quite deserved; others may just be an off-shoot of some other claim to fame. But undeniably, showbiz watchers may just have new things to watch out for.
Jinkee goes to (showbiz) town
Going for Uncle Sam
Sam Milby, meanwhile, launched his third album, “Be Mine,” also on Oct. 7. During the press gathering, he revealed he is scheduled meetings with American network executives after shows abroad, particularly in New Jersey on Oct. 8. Apparently, he had auditioned for an acting job early this year, and this meeting might actually be the start of something new for the actor.
In a report that appeared on Push.com, Sam revealed he was tapped by a US-based network while on tour in Los Angeles last year. He was quoted in the report as saying, “They’re looking for an Asian guy. They watched the Star Magic tour in L.A. earlier this year and they had other agents watch me in New York as well. After that, they asked me to come back to audition.”
Calling it “good timing,” Sam noted that his movie “Forever and a Day” with KC Concepcion also had a screening in New York, and that’s where he auditioned.
Although he says he still doesn’t know what type of show it would be, and that network negotiations are still ongoing, he had already “read a script and they just recorded it. Siyempre I was nervous, it was a big network.” He also noted it was down to him and a Korean actor that time.
He does, however, assure his fans that he doesn’t have any plans to leave local showbiz just yet, saying “it’s too early to make plans…” He also noted he still has upcoming projects with ABS-CBN, namely the soap “Alta” and a movie with Bea Alonzo.
