MANILA, Philippines – Lead stars of Star Cinema’s “Forever and a Day” have dedicated the success of the movie to their director, Cathy Garcia-Molina.
In an interview with DZMM's “Showbiz Mismo,” actor Sam Milby and actress KC Concepcion said “Forever and a Day” turned out to be a fine movie because of the commitment that Garcia gave.
“Ako fan ako ni Direct Cathy. Laging may twist ‘yong mga pelikulang ginagawa niya. In this case parang iba ‘yong attack, iba ‘yong dating nung feeling sayo paglabas mo ng sinehan,” Concepcion said.
Milby, on the other hand, revealed that although it is his fourth project with the director, he considers this movie where they got the closest.
“Ito ang pang-apat na movie na we've been together and sa lahat ng movies na nagawa namin, this one talagang we got the closest. Nag-usap kami kasi for a director to bring out the best in you, dapat malaman niya lahat ng bagay tungkol sa 'yo, to know how to motivate you. Talagang nag-usap kami. She got to understand me more,” he shared.
Concepcion and Milby also admire Garcia for not giving up on them amid early speculations that they don’t have an on screen chemistry and the viewers might not watch their movie.
Meanwhile, Concepcion disclosed that “Forever and a Day” is special because she was able to apply the lessons she learned in her stay in show business.
“Siguro gawa na rin ng ilang taon na rin ang nakalipas since my first movie, natural din naman po sa isang tao na sa kahit anong trabaho na nag-i-improve ka through the years. Siguro ‘yong mga eksena po namin mayroon na akong karga. Mas marami na rin akong naranasan,” she said.
Both said they are elated to hear positive reviews about their movie on its first screening day.
“Marami nga pong nagsabi na talagang gustong gusto nila kung paano ang attack sa kanila ng pelikula kasi hindi siya ‘yong tipong pelikula na masasabi mong light drama or nakakaiyak, malungkot ang pelikula. Parang hindi mo masabi kung ‘Paano ba ako tinamaan ng pelikulang ito?' Iba ‘yong pakiramdam so parang nakakatuwang isipin,” said Concepcion.
“Forever and a Day” is now showing in theaters nationwide.
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board has given Star Cinema's newest offering a general patronage (GP) rating while the film got a B rating from the Cinema Evaluation Board.
