MANILA, Philippines -- Being a heartthrob actor who rose to fame via a "Pinoy Big Brother" stint in 2005, Sam Milby admitted he feels his audience doesn't take seriously his other undertaking in showbiz -- being a singer.
Pointing to his latest award, however, the Kapamilya star feels vindicated as a musician. His singing career thus far has produced 4 albums.
On Tuesday night, Milby was given the Best Ballad Recording award for his hit song "Hindi Kita Iiwan" at the 25th Awit Awards.
"Wala akong masabi. First Awit Award ko 'to," he told reporters at the sidelines of the awarding ceremony held at Glorietta 1 in Makati City.
"It's a big thing also for me, because I think a lot of people, they don't take me seriously a lot of times as a singer. They look at me more of as an actor," Milby added.
