Sam Milby says it’s not hard to fall in love with someone in showbiz"

Back in the country after a three-month absence, Sam Milby said he plans to go back to New York to do another round of auditions next year. “The auditions went very well actually. Babalik na ako sa States saJanuary for auditions again. I learned a lot from the experience but what I’m so happy about is parang yung love ko sa lahat, sa music, sa passion ko saacting, and the craft, parang bumalik. I feel so inspired just to improve na gumaling sa singing, saperforming. And parang I just feel so excited just to learn so much just from this year,” he said.

The talented actor said he is looking forward to start work on an upcoming teleserye with Judy Ann Santos. “Hindi pa kami nag-sa-start. Actually next week may storycon and look test so malapit na malapit na,” he revealed.

Sam denied that he had a relationship with a model during his stay abroad. “We’re not dating. I admittedna gusto ko siya. We’re just friends. Hindi naman kami constant communication. May boyfriend siya. I’ve only known her for like a month and hindi naman masama na gusto ko ang isang babae na may boyfriend perobecause of that, I can’t allow myself to pursue or like her more. She’s a nice person, she’s gorgeous and I admire her. Hindi naman parang, ‘Wow in love ako,’” he clarified.

The 28-year-old admitted it might have ended up in a different story if the girl he liked was unattached. “I’m sure [I would’ve pursued] pero medyo mahirap dahil nandito ako tapos nandun siya but I’m sure we would’ve found more time to get to know each other more and see where it could have gone pero ayun nga, she has a boyfriend so friends lang. Babalik ako but a lot can happen in one year so baka naman andito ako and baka ako ang ma-in love (laughs),” he said.

Coming from a much-publicized relationship in the past, Sam said he now prefers to keep a low profile when it comes to his love life. “I’ve always been vocal about mas gusto kong non-showbiz ngayon. But at the same time you can’t help whom you fall in love with. With this work, how many hours we have and all the beautiful women that I get to work with. All that time that you spend with them, sometimes I end up falling in love. So you can’t help that from happening but if I can choose, mas gustong non-showbiz para mas tahimik ang love life,” he said.

Sam said the key to making it as a celebrity couple is communication. “I think it’s just something you have to agree on as a couple, what you want to share with the public and what you don’t want to share. Pero pag mayaway or breakup, I think you can’t really decide that so it’s more of understanding each other. Everyone in the business knows that it’s something that you have to accept, how public your love life is,” he explained.
 
Sam said celebrity couples have to deal with different issues. “The problem is if you are with somebody and you are a showbiz couple then you are always in the limelight. Kahit ayaw mo, kahit gusto mong medyo tahimik yung love life mo, it’s still very, very public. It’s something that’s very hard to do. That is the difficult part and a lot of times sa away—siyempre sa couple—away na showbiz. There’s always may favoritisms sa fans with how big love teams are here and fans that love the love teams. Pag naghiwalay, siyempre yung mga fans nasasaktan din. So that’s what’s also hard, the fans get affected talaga sa mga breakups. More often than not, it does affect their careers and their fans,” he explained.
