072311-yeng-main.jpgYeng Constantino is excited about her second major concert which will happen this August since it has been four years since she did her first one. That was in 2007, right after she was declared the first-everPinoy Dream Academy Grand Winner. The singer-songwriter’s fourth album will also be coming out soon.

Yeng has had an active singing career ever since she “graduated” from PDA. “’Yun ang masasabi kongvictory sa career ko, eh ‘yung makapag-stay ako ng ilang taon. Kasi other come and go, ako straight five years andito pa rin so I’m really glad and grateful.”

Yeng’s second major concert which is being held at Aliw Theater is also signifies her newfound self-confidence. “Ilang taon na nagkaroon ako ng fear na mag-concert uli sa rock scene na medyo nagla-lie low,” she explained. “Parang ‘di tanggap ng marketngayon [ang rock genre]. Siguro it’s time na tanggalin ang fear. Gawin [ko] lang ‘yung passion ko because it’s my music and ang tagal hinintay ng mga supporters ko na mag-concert ako ulit, so ito na ‘yung oras… Para talaga sa kanila ito, para makita uli nila ako onstage.”

When Push.com.ph asked Yeng what people should watch out for in her concert, she replied, “It’s more on about I think it’s my passion na mabuhay ulit kasi nga four years akong natakot na mag-concert ulit sa music industry kasi nga ‘yung rock scene medyo nagla-lie low.” She added that she finally had the courage when she realized that singing is what she does best and this is the only way she can show her gratitude to her supporters.

Many of her guests are her friends, such as Sam Milby, 6CycleMind, Tutti Caringal, Gloc 9, and Raymund Marasigan. “Natutuwa ako kasi ang lahat ng friends ko umoo na mag-guest hindi dahil sa work [but] because more of relationships.”

Yeng’s second major concert happens on August 5, Friday at the Aliw Theater. For tickets call, 891-9999 and 470-2222.
