"Sam Milby says he’s willing to be the Philippines’ Christian Grey: ‘I can be both naughty and nice"

Although he hasn’t read the book 50 Shades of Grey, Sam Milby said that he’s open to do daring roles such as the male protagonist in the said British erotic romance novel. The book is popular for explicitly intimate scenes that involve bondage/discipline and dominance/submission among others. “Pwede [ako sa ganon ka-daring]. Ayaw kong gawin ng basta basta lang. Basta importante yung material at character. It’s different eh. Sometimes may mga kwento na kailangan ng mas daring [na portrayal]. Kung maganda yung material, why not?” he said during his recent solo press con.

On a personal note, Sam observed that such practices are very personal and would depend upon the preferences of a couple. What he can say though is that guys should really be more aggressive than women. “For either a guy or a girl, pareho naman ‘yan na gusto rin ng challenge. I agree na as a guy, dapat kaming mga lalaki, dapat mas aggressive.”

When asked whether or not he’s submissive when in a relationship, Sam explained that it just happened that most of his ex-girlfriends had strong personalities. But he claimed that he never experienced being henpecked. “Hindi, ayoko ng ganon. Yung mga girlfriends ko dati, they do have strong personalities. But at the same time, yun ang nagbigay ng spice and excitement sa relationship. Kasi ‘pag may disagreement kami, hindi lang kami, ‘Sige, oo.’ Dapat may argument para mag-grow kami ng sabay.” 

As a lover, the Rockoustic Heartthrob agreed that he has a naughty side as well. “Kailangan ba talaga ‘yan… I can be both naughty and nice. Hahaha! Mas aggressive ako kapag ramdam ko na may gusto yung babae.”

The 28 year-old insisted that he really takes his romantic relationships seriously. “Kasi ako todo ako magmahal kapag in love ako. Parang nakakalimutan ko yung mundo, nakakalimutan ko lahat. Kaya medyo nakakatakot kung in love ako ngayon dahil marami akong trabaho.”

At this point in his life, Sam added that he’s past playing the field and he’s already looking forward to meet a very special girl that he can be with. “I think at 28, tapos na yung stage na yun. I think yun din ang dahilan kung bakit picky ako. I would admit that I am picky. I think pagdating sa pag-ibig. I’m at a point na gusto ko naman makilala yung babaeng pakakasalan ko. I want to get to know kung sinong babaeng pakakasalan ko. This is the perfect time to establish a strong foundation or a relationship. Around 33 or 35 years old, yun ang ideal age para sa akin magpakasal.”
