After having only three pineapple slices for breakfast, Sam Milby jumped right into military training for his upcoming teleserye Muling Buksan ang Puso (formerly entitled Alta). The Kapamilya heartthrob, along with Luis Manzano, his co-star in the teleserye, underwent the first leg of their training today. Both Luis and Sam were under the supervision of Staff Seargent Pasco, who gave them a couple of drill exercises. Together with a group of second lieutenants, the hunks learned how to march and salute properly under the heat of the sun.
“Nasa army ang ate ko, staff seargent sya, she was in the army for seven or eight years so may idea ako about the training,” he shared. “The stuff I learned today ay mga basic movements. I found it harder than expected kasi talagang mahigpit ang drill sergeant, dapat eksakto ang position ng bawat parte ng katawan,” he added. The training became harder when he felt itchy and wanted to scratch his face but couldn’t because if he did, the sergeant would order him to do a couple of push-ups as punishment.
Sam clarified that he doesn’t play a military man in Muling Buksan ang Puso, but he was asked to undergo the training to be more disciplined and to improve his posture. The actor revealed that he is set to portray the rich brother of the characters of Luis Manzano and Gretchen Barretto. They are scheduled to start taping come October.

Rockoustic Hearthrob Sam Milby is excited to start military training in preparation for his upcoming soap opera Muling Buksan Ang Puso (previously titled Alta). “That’s going to be something new for me,” he shared. According to Sam, the boys in the dramaserye are required to undergo military training.
However, Sam wasn’t able to provide further details about his role because they haven’t started taping yet. “Three months ago dapat nag-start na kami mag-taping ng Alta after nung movie namin ni KC (Concepcion) pero hindi ko alam kung bakit may delay,” he revealed. “Siguro dahil busy sa ibang shows and revisions ng script. We’re just waiting pa rin pero alam ko tuloy. I’ve already done a workshop with Direk Laurice (Guillen)”
Sam explained that he isn’t bothered by the taping delays because he is busy promoting his new album Be Mine and is also spending time with his sister and niece who are based in the United States and are slated to go back to America in a few weeks’ time. “At least I have more time to spend with them habang hindi pa ako busy sa pag-gawa ng teleserye. Happy ako na kasama yung pamangkin ko sa bahay. Kahit na puyat ako galing work gusto ko pa rin makipaglaro sa kanya,” he ended.
Muling Buksan Ang Puso will also star Gretchen Barretto, Angelica Panganiban and KC Concepcion.

Hunk actor Sam Milby and equally known singer-actress Heart Evangelista lead the four artists from the Philippines who will be performing in this year’s Sydney Fiesta Kultura of the Philippine Australian Sports & Culture, Inc.
Also guest performing are comedienne Gizelle Sanchez and upcoming model actor Daniel Matsunaga. The guesting of the four will be in collaboration with Globe Telecom and UBI World TV, the GMA Network arm in Australia. Their shows are scheduled at 1:30pm and at 5pm.
The 23rd edition of the biggest gathering of Filipinos in Australia will be held on 2 October (Sunday, Labor Day long weekend) at the Fairfield Showground on Smithfield Road, Prairiewood.
The festivity is capped by the search for Miss Philippines Australia and Charity Queen Australia. Milby, a sportsman engaged in motocross, a dangerous sport, is one of the busiest, most in-demand stars in showbiz today. He is best known for his boy-next-door looks and talent as an actor. He was formerly engaged to Fil-Australian actress Anne Curtis.
Evangelista is one of the leading stars of GMA and topbills the remake of the 80’s classic Temptation Island which was recently shown. Love Marie Payawal Ongpauco in real life, the 26 year old Evangelista is the youngest in seven children of a restaurateur couple whose family founded the now-international chain Barrio Fiesta Restaurant.
Since her discovery in 2004 and became a part of Star Magic, Evangelista has appeared in countless movie and TV shows. In 2009 she won the FAMAS Best Actress trophy for her title role in Ay Ayeng.
Sanchez is best known for her naughty humor and sexy image but she is also an articulate and intelligent with a degree in Mass Com-munications from UP graduating as magna cum laude. As she is not tied to any contract, she moves from one TV station to another and regularly holds concerts in various countries around the world.
Matsunaga is a Japanese Brazilian who has starred in two movies and has recently been included in the stable of artists of Regal Entertainment. He is a GMA mainstay and the current boy friend of Heart Evangelista. According to Ms. Sasa Carlos of UBI World TV, “This real-life couple whose romance started brewing on the set of GMA Pinoy TV’s drama series “Langit sa Piling Mo” can’t wait to meet and perform for our Pinoys in Australia.
Multi-awarded Heart Evangelista, lead of the concluded “fantaserye” Dwarfina and one of the leads of recently produced movie Temptation Island is a mainstay of Party Pilipinas TV program. Meanwhile, Brazilian-Japanese Daniel Matsunaga stars in GMA Pinoy TV’s current sports-drama entitled Futbolitis, GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV are available through UBI World TV 1300 400 800.
Meanwhile, Mr. Manny Castillo of Philippine Australian Sports and Culture (PASC), Inc. the convenor of the annual event said, “Fiesta Kultura continues with the tradition of improved features both in the location setup and the programmed activities under the covered areas of the Fairfield Showground.”
According to Castillo, there will be two stages for entertainment during the daylong event which will feature a Folkloric festival of performances, a food festival,a Filipino-Australian trade and tourism exhibit, youth festival display, classic motors show, and an arts and craft exhibit.
The now famous Miss Philippine-Australia Beauty Pageant will cap and close at night the Fiesta activities.
