MANILA, Philippines - Actor-singer Sam Milby is longing for romance.
Though several girls have been linked to him, Milby claimed he hasn't had a relationship ever since his breakup with Anne Curtis.
“Minsan naman, I mean nakakalungkot kasi mag-isa lang ako sa bahay, lahat ng mga kaibigan ko may love life. Masarap magkaroon ng love life ngayon, inspirasyon ‘yung parang maging kilig ulit,” he told “Showbiz News Ngayon” on Friday.

Milby said he is hoping to come across the right girl in due time. “Ngayon, wala akong love life. Naghihintay lang.”

“I think everything happens for a reason. Alam ko naman dadating ‘yon and it’s nothing I’m rushing. Dadating ‘yung araw na magiging masayang-masaya ako dahil alam kong ito talagang babaeng nakalaan para sa akin,” he added.

Meanwhile, now that his ex-girlfriend Curtis and her new boyfriend Erwan Heusaff’s relationship seems to be going strong, Milby expressed that he is sincerely happy for both them.

“Basta I’m happy for her. Nahirapan ako dati pero you know you learn to cope and move on. I know happy sila, so I’m happy for them, and ako din I’m happy dahil okay kami [ni Anne],” he said.

Direk Paul ready to marry Toni

Sa presscon ng Thelma, tahasang sinabi ni Direk Paul Soriano na ready na siyang mag-asawa at hinihintay lang niya ang girlfriend na si Toni Gonzaga na maging handa rin.

Thirty years old na si direk ngayon at si Toni naman, 27. Matatandaang nagpahayag na ang TV host-actress kamakailan na three years pa bago siya pumasok sa pag-aasawa at willing siyang hintayin ng boyfriend.

“Well for me talaga I’m ready, eh, honestly ready na ako, I think. I’m starting out a good career, I’m saving, nag-iipon ako, I’m saving my money. I’m just waiting for her to be ready because I don’t want to force her, I don’t want to rush her. Seryoso ang marriage, eh. Marriage, forever ’yan, eh, for the rest of your life.”

Ayon kay Toni in a recent interview, wala raw deadline ang marriage, na inayunan naman ni direk.

“Exactly! That’s why for me, honestly talaga, ’pag ready si Toni, ready na ako.”

Ngayon ba, hindi pa ready si Toni?

“Si Toni, she’s concentrating on her career, eh, and I can’t blame her. She’s worked so hard to get to where she is today. I don’t want to come in between that, so, I want her to tell me ’pag ready na siya, then we can start talking about it. I want to be an inspiration to her career rather than a hindrance.”

Natanong din si direk kung wala ba siyang interes na maging artista at makapareha ang girlfriend dahil leading man material siya at sa totoo lang, puwede niyang pataubin ang ibang leading men natin dahil sa angking kaguwapuhan.

“Well, at this point talaga, I’m really trying to establish myself as a director. Maybe down the line, if I’m really known as a director, then I maybe do cameo-cameo, okay lang. Pero as of now…

“I remember, in Amnesia Girl (movie nina Toni at John Lloyd Cruz), they asked me to do a cameo, kasi, ’di ba, parang ’yung pangalan ni John Lloyd (sa movie), parang John Paul, Polo, eh. “Sabi ni Toni... well, actually, ako rin, ’di pumayag, eh. I want to be comfortable, eh, when I do it, baka hindi pa ready. ’Coz I know if I’m not comfortable, I won’t do well, eh.”

Bakit hindi siya comfortable?

“In front of the camera, medyo, wala, eh, I become shy, I shut down, oo. Mas sanay ako behind the cameras. Actually, lahat ’to, new to me, eh,” pahayag niya.

Natanong din siya kung willing ba siyang idirek si Toni sa susunod niyang films at aniya, okay sila off-cam ng girlfriend at mas maganda na raw siguro ’yun.

Kung sakali namang maidirek niya sa movie si Toni, sino ang personal niyang pipiliin para maging leading man nito?

“Honestly, her team-up with John Lloyd, Amnesia Girl, I really love it. Vhong Navarro, I think they have great chemistry. And Sam Milby, of course, you cannot go wrong with Sam and Toni, actually, it will be nice to see them in a more mature kind of film ’coz they’re both very mature actors.

“And maybe si Bossing, si Vic Sotto. I was excited for that (Vic-Toni movie plan noon na naudlot), pero it didn’t work out. But I know in the future, it would be nice to see Bossing and Toni in a movie together.”

Sa pelikulang Thelma, na showing na sa Sept. 7, puring-puri ni direk si Maja dahil hindi raw si Maja na artista ang nakita niya sa mga eksena kundi si Thelma (name ng character ni Maja) mismo.

Have you fallen in love with someone who is in love with someone else? Such is the dilemma depicted in Rockoustic Heartthrob Sam Milby’s latest music video entitled, “Di Kita Iiwan.” It’s the debut single from his soon-to-be-released album under Star Records entitled Be Mine. The album, unlike his previous compilations, will include seven of the Kapamilya’s Hunk’s original compositions plus three revivals. And just last Tuesday, in an exclusive interview, Insidepinoyshowbiz.ph caught up with the Rockoustic Heartthrob at the shooting of the music video of “Di Kita Iiwan,” in Bulacan.

What is the story behind the music video of “Di Kita Iiwan”?

“Di Kita Iiwan” is written by Jonathan Manalo and [the video is] directed by Treb Monteras. The story is about a guy thinking of a girl, the girl had her heart broken by another guy and the guy is saying, “Be with me, I will never hurt you, I will never let you experience what you experienced, I will never break your heart, parang ganoon.”

Have you ever been in that position? Have you been in love with someone who had a boyfriend?

Pag alam kong may girlfriend, hindi ko na tinutuloy, hindi na ako nai-in love. Mahirap talaga ‘yun.

Tell us more about your album.

The album contains 10 songs, seven originals and three remakes. I wrote one of the songs, “Pushing Me Away”. I wrote the chorus a long time ago and I finished the song early this year. It’s about a girl who is giving up on the relationship, and the guy is saying, “After all we’ve been through, why give up?” Parang I keep trying to work things out but you keep pushing me away.

How different is your album from your previous ones?

Hindi naman different sounds, lagi naman pop-rock ang peg ko, ganun din sa album na ito pero dito mas maraming original songs and almost half are Tagalog.

What else are you busy with?
I am attending workshops for the new teleserye Alta with Gretchen Barretto and Zanjoe Marudo. I will also be doing a movie with Bea Alonzo in the latter part of this year and another movie with Ate Uge (Eugene Domingo).

MANILA, Philippines - Hunk actor Sam Milby has denied reports that actress Kim Chiu is giving him the cold shoulder.

Reports that Chiu is avoiding Milby surfaced amid rumors romantically linking the former to the latter.
In an interview with ABS-CBN's "Showbiz News Ngayon," Milby said Chiu even invited him to watch the premiere of her show, "My Binondo Girl."

"Not at all. Hindi. Actually nag-premiere 'yung 'My Binondo Girl' in-invite niya ako. Kaso hindi naman ako nakapunta," he said.

Milby added that there is no reason for them to avoid each other.

"Yes, magkaibigan pa rin kami. Bakit naman kami magkakailangan? Hindi lang ako nakasipot kasi I was not able to. But I wanted to, siyempre gusto kong suportahan ang show niya," he explained.

It all started when Queen of All Media Kris Aquino teased Milby to Chiu, who is still single after her controversial breakup with Gerald Anderson last year.

Milby was last linked to actress Anne Curtis.

PRESS RELEASE: KAGAY-AN FESTIVAL 5th FLOAT PARADE

There will be major changes in parade route for the Float Parade this year in consideration of the ongoing construction of Marcos Highway fly-over. The 5th Float Parade is set on August 27 Saturday and supervised by Pueblo de oro Development Corporation for Promote CDO.

Spectators are advised that the parade will still kick off from Rodelsa Circle by 7am passing thru Velez St. But instead to going straight towards Velez-Licoan-Recto junction, the parade will turn from Velez Street to Luna St then go straight to Osmena St. From Osmena, the participants will turn right towards Coca-Cola plant in Claro Recto and proceed to Limketkai Drive main entry point in Lapasan where the end point of the Parade will be held.

There are 69 confirmed participants which will include 15 competing floats, 2 sponsor floats, 22 drum and bugle corps and some civic organization groups, including from the PNP, Philippine Army, Coast Guard among others.

5th Float Parade participants are requested to be at the assembly area as early as 5:30am. The City PNP has assured the organizers that security will be tightened for the participants and spectators.

There will be showbiz personalities who will join the parade, including the winners of Ms. Kagay-an 2011, city officials and a lot more.

Limketkai center will serve as the last judging point for the float parade competition and drum and bugle corp. Gean T. Cesar, Kagay-an Festival Media Coordinator
