MANILA, Philippines – The lead stars of upcoming film “Forever and a Day” have come together to talk about the movie during a press conference held on Friday.
Movie director Cathy Garcia-Molina said the movie is not like any other films she has made in the past because its story has a broader scope.
“I believe naman po that every movie is unique in its own right. Ito po ang seed po talaga nito galing sa akin eh. Malapit po sa puso ko ang kuwentong ito. This is something that just doesn’t talk about love. It talks about life. It talks about love for life,” Molina said.
This is the first movie project of actor Sam Milby and actress KC Concepcion.
Although they have spent time together when they were shooting the film, Milby said he and Concepcion have always been close even before they did the movie.
“Well even before we started the movie, close na kami. Hindi naman kami naging mas close kasi close na talaga kami even before we started the movie. Mas madalas lang kaming naging magkasama dahil sa movie,” he said.
Asked how close their relationship is, Concepcion answered: “Nagshe-share kami ng problema sa isa’t isa. Nakakatuwa lang kasi po talagang pareho po kami ng kultura, pareho kami ng hilig.”
Concepcion revealed that Milby is among the few people in her life whom she thinks is for keeps.
“Napag-usapan namin ‘yon before na parang we don’t think that something will ever get in the way sa friendship namin. For life siya talaga,” she said.
Molina, on the other hand, admitted that she had a hard time filming the movie because of the 2 stars' closeness.
“Actually po ang naging problem ko po talaga naging magkaibigan sila. Even Sam and KC were telling me that they are having problems kasi sobra silang magkaibigan and they cannot look at each other as if they could be lovers,” she said.
“Nahirapan ako but I always tell them and I always believe po na hindi naman sila ang nai-in love on screen but rather the characters. So for as long as they become the characters, it is not impossible to fall in love. Ako po ay kumakapit na lang sa characterization nila and make them live it and make them fall in love with the characters and not with themselves,” she added.
The movie is also the first project together of Concepcion and Matet de Leon.
Concepcion is a daughter of the Megastar Sharon Cuneta while de Leon is a daughter of Superstar Nora Aunor.
“Excited ako kasi feeling ko mahahawa ako ng konting ganda niya (Concepcion) kapag nakasama ko siya sa pelikula. Ang tagal [ko siyang] pinapanood sa TV. Ang saya. Nag-enjoy talaga kami working together,” de Leon said.
In the end, Molina said she cannot say whether she, and the rest of the cast, did well in the movie because that would be up to the viewers to judge.
Molina, Milby and Concepcion invited viewers to watch the movie and learn about why one should have a love for life.
“Forever and a Day” is among the films included in the 18th anniversary offering of Star Cinema.
