Sam Milby on acting: ‘I’m my own worst critic’

As part of the hit Primetime Bida series Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala, Sam Milby said he feels very thankful to be part of a supportive group of people. “Ako wala akong narinig na masama from Juday (Judy Ann Santos) and the production, sa lahat that were there. Wala akong narinig na bad feedback at all. Ako naman I’m open to criticism naman eh. I’m open to that kung makakatulong sa akin. Pero may mga criticism talaga where they’re just out there to put you down and hindi ko naman papansinin,” he shared.

When it comes to acting, Sam said he wants to do his best with his role as Eros and is continually trying to practice his Tagalog so he can better deliver his lines. “Siyempre first off I’m my own worst critic lagi. But masasabi ko rin na happy ako sa naging outcome. Happy ako sa naging reaction ng tao at happy ako sa sarili ko na I really feel like I’ve been working a lot harder these past two years in terms of everything like acting and Tagalog. Sana makita yun ng mga tao sa character ko,” he said.

Unlike his character Eros, Sam said he does not have a dark side. “Hindi po. Hindi ganun ka-dark kasi si Eros malala talaga. But siyempre hindi naman ako perpekto. Never mangyayari na may isang babae na I would beat up or hit kahit kailan,. I would never do that. Siyempre may mga times na nagagalit talaga ako. Depende sa sitwasyon. If it’s something na ma-ti-trigger yung galit ko. But I’ve got a lot of patience. Calm person ako. I have road rage sometimes. Nothing in particular talaga,” he admitted.

After sharing intimate scenes with Judy Ann Santos and KC Concepcion in the series, Sam said he is more confident about his body. “Kasi last year yung mga eksena na kinunan last year, so mas marami akong oras para mag-workout so mas confident ako dati. Ngayon hindi ako masyado nag-wo-workout. Hindi naman sa confident, mas nakakahiya para sa akin kapag nahihirapan ako sa eksena pero sa ganun hindi eh. Thanks to Juday for her flattering comments and high praises niya sa akin. Hindi naman kailangan mahiya. Pero bakit ako hindi magiging kumportable? Hindi naman yun parang wala na akong suot eh,” he said...
