Although he just came from a mall show in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Sam Milby still managed to attend the PMPC Stars For A Cause held at SM Skydome last Sunday, September 18. He performed the song “Hindi Kita Iiwan,” which is also the carrier single from his latest album entitled Be Mine. “Ang ganda ng bagongalbum ko kasi puro originals tapos dalawang remakelang—‘All My Life’ na theme song sa movie namin niKC Concepcion at ‘And I Love You So’ na ginamit samovie namin noon ni Bea Alonzo. Si Jonathan Manaloang sumulat ng ‘Hindi Kita Iiwan.’ I am very happy kasi malakas sa radyo at balita ko nag-number one recently sa isang record bar.”
Sam further shared with Push.com.ph that one of his original compositions was included in his album. Asked if it was inspired by a past relationship, the Rockoustic Heartthrob said that he’d rather keep mum about it. “May isang song akong sinulat,‘Pushing Me Away’ yung title. Bakit kailangan [may pinanggalingan]? Basta sa akin na lang yun. Nakaisip kasi ako ng melody at lyrics, chorus pa lang yun, two years ago. So nung nalaman ko na kailangan ng original song for this album, sabi ko, ‘Shoot! Baka pwede yung ginawa ko.’ So I worked on it.”
Aside from his new album, Sam is slated to star in the teleserye Muling Buksan Ang Puso together with some of the hottest ABS-CBN stars. Apparently, he has to undergo military training for his newest TV role. “Alam ko three months ago dapat nag-start na kami mag-taping ng Alta right after nung movie namin ni KC. Pero hindi ko alam kung bakit may delay. Siguro dahil busy sa ibang shows and revisions ng script. We’re just waiting pa rin pero alam ko tuloy. I’ve already done a workshop with Direk Laurice (Guillen). At ang ang alam ko kaming boys, mag-mi-military training kami. That's going to be something new for me.”
In the meantime, Sam is making the most out of his short break from primetime TV since he has some family members currently vacationing in the country. “Sa pagkakaalam ko mag-start kami mag-taping in October.Mabuti na rin yun kasi malaking soap yun and nandito pa yung ate ko at pamangkin ko sa Pilipinas. At least I have more time to spend with them habang hindi pa ako busy ulit sa paggawa ng teleserye. Sobrang happy ako na kasama yung pamangkin ko sa bahay. Kaya minsan kahit na puyat ako galing work, mas gusto ko pa rin makipaglaro sa kanya. Dahil in a few weeks’ time babalik na ulit sila sa States.”
