What do Manny Pacquiao and his family, boxing coaches Freddie Roach and Bob Arum, Senators Mar Roxas and Manny Villar, Vice President Jejomar Binay, former Presidents Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, film and television personalities Ai-Ai delas Alas, Toni Gonzaga, Sam Milby, Gerald Anderson and Kim Chui have in common?
Although they did not come together at the same time, they were in the same place: Ranchero Grill and Seafoods Restaurant located at the National Highway in Villa Consuelo Subdivision, General Santos City.
I now have the privilege of being part of that elite “Ranchero-lovers” circle, courtesy of my friend Michael H. Chan. When I visited him to cover the Tuna Festival last year, he brought me to Ranchero. His parents joined us later.
The place is cozy and not your typical Filipino restaurant. In fact, it reminded me of a restaurant which we went to in Livingston , Montana a couple of years back. Yes, the state known for cowboys.
